Unlock Your Potential

Own your story

“He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” — Friedrich Nietzsche

Take the time to reflect on your life and have the courage to follow your purpose.  It’s easier to walk the well-lit path, then forge your own.  Many of us follow convention due to high expectations, incentives or perceived risk. The reality is living a life without purpose, may become your biggest regret. If you do not define your purpose, it will be defined for you.

Excerpt from “Invictus” by William Henley.

“It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul.”

A life of purpose and agency is a life well-lived.  Below I write about how unlocking your purpose, will help you spark positive transformation at work and life.

Find meaning

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” — Mark Twain

When we connect with our ‘why’, work and life take on a much deeper meaning, the ordinary becomes extraordinary.  When you are anchored in purpose, you can set a clear direction and vision for success.  This alignment leads to fulfillment and happiness.  You now have a lens to filter out distractions that don’t align with your why; and through this focus you become more efficient and productive.  When you find meaning, your actions become less reactive and more intentional.

Build resilience

"Your purpose in life takes the punches for you, so your soul remains unwavering even when your body trembles." – Unknown

Harsh truth: There will be periods of your life and work that will be brutal.  An unexpected health issue, the death of a loved one, a relationship or job loss can blow through your life.  If you don’t connect with your deeper why, it’s easy to get knocked out.  Being rooted in your purpose will help you zoom out and see the bigger field. You build strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Being aligned with your purpose doesn’t mean you won’t get knocked down, it means you won’t stay down.

Create impact

“Break the chains of your understanding so your heart can fly.” - Rumi

You will create lasting impact when you align your purpose and actions. When you follow what lights you up, you are more efficient and productive, but more importantly people can feel and see it at work and life.  When you live in alignment you create more leverage.  Each action becomes more intentional and exponentially more impactful.

My message is simple:  If you want to unlock your potential and create lasting impact, you must find and live your purpose.  Time is more precious than money.  Spend it wisely.

Make Shift Happen today.
